Carlos Cashman is president of CourseAdvisor. Carlos joined CourseAdvisor in September 2005, bringing more than 12 years of leadership experience in startups in the high-tech hardware and software industries. As CourseAdvisor President, Carlos is responsible for the company's forward vision and growth strategy.
Prior to joining CourseAdvisor, Carlos was co-founder, chairman and CEO of Asset Performance Technologies Inc., an economic-based maintenance software company headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Prior to APT, Carlos was co-founder and CTO of Opus360 Corporation, a publicly traded software company sold to Artemis International in 2001.
Carlos has consulted for numerous global companies in various industries on e-business strategy and execution, and has been a key member of teams that have raised over $50 million in private equity capital. He has also served as an expert witness in software technology and development and currently sits on the advisory boards of two international technology and services outsourcing companies.
Carlos graduated from MIT with a custom degree in Information Systems Engineering, combining the best of MIT's computer science curriculum with high-level management and IT courses in the Sloan School of Management. Carlos attended MIT on full scholarship from AT&T.
Although he doesn't actually require the CourseAdvisor team to hail him as Caesar, Carlos professes a fascination for all things Ancient Rome and feels a particular affinity with the Empire's genius for combining business acumen with engineering ahead of its time.
