A native of Napa Valley, Carlo Mondavi was born into the renowned winemaking Mondavi family. From picking grapes to handling public relations and marketing for the Mondavi Winery, winemaking has always a played a significant role in Carlo's life.
Carlo has spent the majority of his life dividing time between his two passions: partaking in the family business and participating in a variety of sports. Carlo, an avid sportsman, grew up skateboarding and surfing along the California coast. Competitive in nature, he took to snowboarding, where he won a number of national contests in Colorado and the World Games in France. Although an accomplished athlete, Carlo eventually left the slopes to return to Napa, where he resumed an integral role in the family business.
Carlo has done it all with the Mondavi winery, both behind the scenes with sales and marketing, as well as literally being hands on in the fermentation process. It was in his family's vineyard, working with the grapes, where the Davi concept was born.
After collaborating with researchers at UC Davis, Carlo confirmed the immense health benefits resulting from natural antioxidant ingredients in pommace, the left over skins and seeds found in the fermentation tank. With this knowledge, Carlo then created an antioxidant complex, known as "Meritage," which includes a combination of the antioxidants derived from the grape as well as additional extracts from seeds, fruits and leaves. It is this "Meritage" complex that has become the key anti-aging ingredient in Davi, the new revolutionary skincare line for men and women.
