Janie Mitcham is senior vice president of Smart Energy for Reliant Energy, Inc. Her scope of responsibilities include advocacy and policy development for energy efficiency, demand reduction, retail renewables (such as residential solar energy) and other sustainable energy programs.
Previously, Janie was senior vice president of the company's supply operations for ERCOT. Over her 20-year tenure at Reliant, Mitcham has had responsibility for fossil fuel (natural gas, lignite, coal and oil) acquisition, wholesale power marketing, and dispatch for Reliant Energy's regulated generating assets in Texas. She also spent eight years in the regulatory department working on legislative policy and managing litigation before the Public Utility Commission of Texas, with a focus on fuel, planning, deregulation and engineering issues.
Mitcham received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial distribution and a Master of Science degree in industrial technology from Texas A&M University. She also received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston College of Law. |
