Carla A.R. Hine is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Washington, D.C. office. She is a member of the Firm’s Antitrust and Competition Practice Group where her practice focuses on defending mergers and acquisitions before the U.S. antitrust agencies and various international competition authorities, as well as counseling clients on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions and compliance with the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act and international notification regimes. In addition, her antitrust practice includes antitrust counseling, government investigations and antitrust litigation.
Carla has experience in a variety of industries, including aluminum products, consumer products (e.g., candy, pet food and sporting goods), hospitals and pipe products, among others.
Prior to joining the Firm, Carla worked as a research analyst in the economics arena, where she prepared research and analysis for antitrust litigation and counseling matters, frequently involving Fortune 500 companies.
Carla also served as a legal intern to the Honorable Steven D. Pepe of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
While in law school, Carla interned with the Department of Justice, Antitrust Division. Carla served as editor for the 2003 National Symposium Editorial Board of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. Also, she received Honorable Mention in an annual intellectual property writing competition.
Carla is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Illinois.
