Carl Faulkner, who heads up Cornerstone's Technology Services division, Cornerstone Advisors is fast developing a nationally recognized reputation for its technology planning services. Prior to founding Cornerstone, Carl served in a similar role with M ONE, Inc. Carl was Senior Vice President and CIO of America West Airlines and managed all telecommunications, systems development/maintenance, and data center operations. Before America West, Carl was Managing Partner in charge of Information Technology Consulting at Ernst & Young. Carl joined EDS after college and participated in the design and implementation of EDS financial systems used by its largest clients. Carl is a contributing author to Cornerstone’s benchmarking and best practices publications: The Mid-Size Bank Study 2002, The Cornerstone Report: Benchmarks and Best Practices for Mid-Size Banks 2003 and 2005 and The Cornerstone Report: Benchmarks and Best Practices for Credit Unions 2006. He is a regular contributing author to GonzoBanker and CUES Tech Port, and he is frequently called upon by journalists as an expert Technology resource for various industry publications, including American Banker, ABA Banking Journal, BAI's Banking Strategies, and Credit Union Management (CUES). Carl also has an active public service life. He was appointed by the Governor of Arizona to the Venture Team, a volunteer organization with the goal of identifying and implementing cost savings strategies for the Department of Transportation. In addition, Carl serves as a board member for CASS, a Phoenix-area organization designed to reduce urban homelessness. Carl earned an MBA in economic statistics and a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin. |
