Carl has extensive experience with a wide range of compensation and benefit issues, including experience in corporate employee benefits law, as well as corporate, labor, administrative and tax law.
Prior to joining SMART, Carl was a Director with KPMG’s Compensation & Benefits Practice. In this role, Carl assisted Fortune 500 and other large and medium-size employers with compensation and benefit issues, including establishing and designing new benefit programs, due diligence on merger and acquisitions, union negotiations, plan governance and procedures, corporate recovery (bankruptcies), and benchmarking compensation and benefit programs.
Carl is a frequent speaker on employee benefit issues and is a co-author of “The Impact of Underfunded Pension and OPEB Obligations on U.S. Business Valuation,” The Journal of Corporate Renewal (October 2005). |
