Carl Etter, chief executive, senior vice president, Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the 138 bed facility. Before joining Scripps, he served as assistant vice president for Community Health Systems, a multi-state hospital system based in Tennessee. Etter provided supervision and leadership to CEOs at 20 facilities throughout seven states in operations, strategic planning, physician recruitment, revenue and market growth and new service development.
Prior to Community Health Systems, Etter served as chief executive officer for Riley Memorial Hospital, a 180-bed acute-care hospital in Mississippi; and as chief executive officer/administrator for Woman’s Hospital, a 111-bed acute-care hospital dedicated to women’s health care.
Etter has a Masters degree in hospital administration from Yale University School of Medicine. |
