Carl F. Staiger is a partner with Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP and is a member of the firm’s Business Transactions & Planning Group. Mr. Staiger practices in the areas of corporate law, partnerships, federal and state taxation, and securities.Mr. Staiger concentrates his practice in business and tax planning for commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, as well as planning involving partnerships, S corporations and other closely held businesses. Mr. Staiger also represents clients in raising capital through private placements and traditional financing, and in tax compliance matters involving the Internal Revenue Service, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, the City of Pittsburgh and other municipalities. Mr. Staiger also represents clients in drilling and developing oil and gas wells in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.Mr. Staiger has worked on a number of complex business acquisitions including structuring transactions to acheive favorable tax results and negotiating the acquisition agreements and related transaction documents.Mr. Staiger received a Bacheler of Science degree in accounting, with honors, from Rutgers University in 1990. He received his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from Widener University School of Law in 1993 and he earned an LL.M. in Taxation from Temple University School of Law in 2001.Mr. Staiger is a member of the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Allegheny County Bar Associations. Prior to practicing law, he was a tax professional with a Big Six accounting firm. |
