Carey represents clients in employment disputes involving alleged violations of federal and state employment statutes, including the following: Title VII Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN Act) Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) Carey also represents clients in cases involving enforcement of non-compete agreements, protection of trade secrets, and common law claims such as breach of contract and wrongful discharge in violation of public policy. In addition, she advises clients regarding employment issues, and assists them by reviewing and drafting employment contracts, non-compete agreements, employee policies and handbooks, and severance agreements.
