Description of Practice:
Candace Harrison is an associate in our labor and employment group based in the Orange County office. She provides associate-level support to our labor and employment team in various types of employment disputes with a special emphasis on wrongful termination, employment discrimination, and sexual harassment, along with discrimination and misconduct claims before the Worker's Compensation Appeals Board. She has experience in all pre-trial phases of employment litigation including drafting motions and written discovery, participating in depositions and mediations, interviewing witnesses, drafting position statements to the DFEH and EEOC, and representing clients at the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board against 132a Petitions for Increased Benefits and Serious and Willful Applications.
Prior to joining Allen Matkins, Candace was an associate with the Sacramento office of Littler Mendelson, PC and a member of the firm's employment litigation practice.
Educational History:
Candace obtained her B.A. in History, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Redlands in 1997. As an undergraduate, Candace was president of the History Club and a member of both the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society and the Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society. She went on to obtain her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 2002. While in law school, Candace won first place in the Roger J. Traynor California Moot Court Competition and served as a member of the Moot Court Board. She was one of 14 students chosen out of 169 candidates to be a Milton S. Schwartz Inn of Court Student Member for the 2001-2002 academic year. Candace also won a second place Bernard E. Witkin Award for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society. |
