Cameron K. Weiffenbach is counsel in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Washington, D.C. office. He is a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department and concentrates his practice on patent matters, with special emphasis in the areas of chemistry, life sciences and biotechnology.
Prior to joining the firm, Cameron served the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for more than 30 years in various capacities, including as a Patent Examiner for chemical patent applications, a Protest Examiner and Special Program Examiner in the Office of the Assistant Commissioner for patents, and as Director of the Office of Enrollment and Discipline. Most recently, he served as an Administrative Patent Judge at the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences in the fields of chemical and biotechnology patent applications.
Cameron has lectured for the American Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association, Intellectual Property Owners, U.S. Trademark Association, and various state bar and intellectual property law associations.
He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry.
Cameron is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
