Caldwell's practice is limited exclusively to family law. He is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Family Law Specialist. Prior to joining the firm in 1995, Caldwell served a one-year clerkship with Chief Justice Burley B. Mitchell, Jr. of the North Carolina Supreme Court. He has been involved in the preparation and presentation of Continuing Legal Education programs for the North Carolina Bar Association and the Wake Forest University School of Law. He is also currently serving as the Managing Editor for the update of the North Carolina Bar Association's publication, North Carolina Family Law Claims. Caldwell received his B.A. in History from Wake Forest University and received his J.D., cum laude, from Campbell University's Norman A. Wiggins School of Law, where he served as membership editor for the Campbell Law Review.
