As Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Karstendiek brings a wealth of experience from the global chemical industry. His knowledge and career experience in transportation, regulatory compliance, manufacturing, risk management, packaging, and operations delivers substantial and credible value to The GCRH Corporation. Karstendiek joined GCRH after 31 years with The Dow Chemical Company. During his career with Dow he held numerous technical and managerial positions. In his last position at Dow, Karstendiek was Manager of Dow North America Hazardous Materials Distribution (HMD) and Customs. His responsibilities included: HMD Regulatory Affairs Implementation of Transportation Regulations The Chemical Industry’s "Distribution and Transportation Code-of-Management Practices" Distribution Incident Emergency Planning and Preparedness Distribution Risk Management Coordination/involvement in industry associations While at Dow, Karstendiek was the management sponsor for the implementation of PALs (Dow’s internal custom Package, Artwork, and Label system), including the complete after-implementation documentation of actual savings and value-return. Measured successes and paradigm process shifts that resulted from the PALs technology implementation at Dow were a prime motivator for Karstendiek to join the GCRH team. He is a powerful, credible voice in the marketplace for GCRH and its solutions. Prior to joining Dow, Karstendiek was a Research Physicist associated with Schellenger Research Laboratories at the University of Texas at El Paso. He received his Baccalaureate Degree in Physics from Texas Western College and was awarded his Master’s in Physics from the University of Texas at El Paso. |
