A recognized expert in fiber optics with more than 25 years of experience in research and development, Dr. Kim brings a variety of leadership and technical expertise to the company. Prior to founding Novera Optics, he founded and managed FiberPro, a successful global test and measurement company. Dr. Kim taught at Stanford University and at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) where he served as chairman of physics department.
Dr. Kim is a Fellow of the IEEE, Optical Society of America, and Institute of Physics (UK), and a member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology. He also served as a governor of IEEE LEOS (Lasers and Electro-Optics Society), and published more than 200 technical papers and holds more than 40 patents. Dr. Kim received a B.S. from Seoul National University, a M.S. from KAIST, both in Physics, and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University. |
