Buzz has a twenty plus year career in financial management, human resources, corporate recruiting and executive search. Buzz’s extensive corporate recruiting experience gives him the ability to empathize with the challenges of hiring executives in order to help solve their problems. Today, Buzz manages an established (1982) retained, generalist executive search practice, Donahue/Patterson Associates, from offices in Chicago’s Loop central business district. Buzz earned his MBA from Michigan State University. He is also a graduate of the Culver Academies in Indiana. He began his business career as a practicing CPA for Arthur Andersen in Chicago and also spent several years in St. Louis with that firm. Later, Buzz was the architect of the firm’s first dedicated corporate recruiting group. Buzz also has extensive experience in legal administration having been the Executive Director for a mid-sized law firm in Chicago before going into executive search. Buzz is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, is past President of the Chicago Chapter of the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruitment, serves on the Board of Governors of the Metropolitan Club of Chicago and is past Chair of the Board of the Chicago Society of Clubs. He also serves on the Emeritus Board of St. Paul's House and Health Care Center in Chicago and the Board of Directors of the Alliance for the Great Lakes, an environmental advocacy organization. From a global business management standpoint, Buzz is a member of the Executive Board of the IRC Recruitment organization which operates in over 30 countries. Buzz and his wife Carol have three children
