Bud Whitmeyer joined NuTech Solutions in 2005 serving as COO and a board member, before becoming the company's CEO in 2006.
Mr. Whitmeyer is also a General Partner and Manager of Research Triangle Ventures, a seed/early stage venture capital fund based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Mr. Whitmeyer has a total of 27 years experience in technology, which includes 11 years at SAS Institute, Inc. Mr. Whitmeyer has led the software development efforts at two start-up software companies and is intimately familiar with the start-up company environment.
Mr. Whitmeyer has been an active angel investor and has held interim positions of CEO and CTO of his portfolio companies. Mr. Whitmeyer is individually a member of TriState Investment Groups III and IV and The Atlantis Group, both Research Triangle Park-based groups of angel investors. He is also individually a member of Charlotte Angel Partners, a Charlotte-based group of angel investors.
Mr. Whitmeyer currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Gentris Corporation, Noverant, and LiveWire Logic. Bud Whitmeyer was formerly a member of the Board of Directors at SmartPath, recently acquired by DoubleClick (NASDAQ: DCLK). Bud is a Board Observer for LVL7 Systems, Tranzyme and Ziptronix.
Bud Whitmeyer earned a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University in 1978. |
