Mr. Somerville primarily executes cross border transactions and is on the firm’s Investment Committee. Prior to joining Bourne Partners, Mr. Somerville held the position of Executive Vice President at King Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a leading emerging pharmaceutical company, where he helped found the International Division and served as its Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining King Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Somerville served as a Managing Director of Bourne & Co., a Charlotte-based investment and merchant banking firm, where he was responsible for running the firm’s international practice. He had previously worked with MasterCard International, the credit and debit card group, as an associate in the Global Planning and Analysis division where he developed the company’s competitive intelligence division and served as project lead on a number of international joint ventures. In addition, he has served as a project manager and engineer with McDermott International, a leader in offshore construction management. Mr. Somerville earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Stevens Institute of Technology and a Masters of Business Administration with Distinction from Wake Forest University’s Babcock Graduate School of Management |
