Mr. Anderson's practice focuses on general litigation matters, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical products liability, consumer financial services and commercial litigation. Mr. Anderson's practice also includes appellate matters in state and federal courts of appeal. Prior to joining Dykema, Mr. Anderson was a law clerk to the Honorable Avern Cohn, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan.
While in law school, Mr. Anderson was an oralist on Wayne State University Law School's National Moot Court Team. He won numerous awards at competitions in Michigan and across the country. Mr. Anderson also served as a research assistant for the Honorable Gerald Rosen of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and conducted research on the Federal Rules of Evidence for Judge Rosen's book on the subject. He also served as an intern at the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan, where he researched and drafted memoranda and briefs for cases involving civil rights and civil liberties, including First and Fourth Amendment issues and the USA PATRIOT Act.
Prior to his legal career, Mr. Anderson was an investigative reporter and news anchor at CBS- and NBC-affiliate television stations in Michigan and Missouri and a reporter and announcer for a National Public Radio affiliate in Missouri. He is the winner of the 1999 Associated Press award for the best television news investigative report in Michigan for a story he broadcast exposing the dangers of a mid-Michigan intersection. He was a finalist in the 1997 and 1998 William Randolph Hearst National Broadcast News Championships.
Mr. Anderson also worked as a public relations consultant for a Lansing, Michigan-based firm and received awards from the Public Relations Society of America for the work he performed on behalf of his clients.
