Bruno Sulmon’s career experiences span all corners of the world from Europe to Asia and North America. He draws on this familiarity with different cultures in his role as President for Dow Corning in Europe.
In his previous role as vice president for geographic development he was responsible for expanding Dow Corning’s business into new geographical markets. It was a role that required extensive contact with customers and business partners to explore how innovative silicones solutions could help grow their businesses. Under his direction, new offices were established in Russia and Turkey; both of which witnessed solid sales growth.
Sulmon joined Dow Corning in 1975 and held a variety of positions in finance for the European area, including controller and treasurer. Subsequently, he spent several years in Midland, Michigan as project manager and then global manager for Logistics Planning before returning to Europe, where he became European Vice President and business group manager for the Advanced Materials business.
In 1998, Sulmon moved to Japan to act as Asian Vice President and business group manager for the Core Products business. In 2000, he became General Manager for the Transportation, Energy, Fabrication and Industrial Assembly Industry Business Unit and in 2002 became Asian Area President and Corporate Vice President Geographic Development. He recently relocated to Europe.
Mr. Sulmon earned an engineering degree from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago. |
