Bruce Merino is the senior vice president of Merchandising. He joined the Company in 1984 and is currently responsible for supporting all merchandise-related activities between core merchandising and the stores. In addition he leads vendor services; merchandising operations; field merchandising execution; and the store environment function which develops new store concepts. Bruce also is president of EXPO Design Center special-format stores designed with 10 unique showrooms and he has oversight for Home Decorators Collection a direct seller of home décor merchandise.
Previously Bruce served as the president of the Western Division of The Home Depot and EXPO Design Center. In that role he led more than 78 800 associates in more than 440 Home Depot stores throughout 13 Western states. On behalf of EXPO which has 34 locations staffed by more than 5 300 associates in 13 states Bruce continues to provide leadership across merchandising operations and human resources functions.
Bruce has climbed the ranks in his 22-year career at The Home Depot. As the Company expanded to new markets including the West Coast he became the first Western Division associate in July of 1985. At that time he served as a lumber merchant then as division merchandising manager and merchandising vice president.
Bruce came to The Home Depot with 12 years of experience in home improvement retail having previously served as a salesperson distribution center manager and lumber merchant.
Bruce is actively involved in philanthropic efforts such as Habitat for Humanity and KaBOOM! playground builds. |
