Dr. Bruce D'Ambrosio is CleverSet's founder and Chief Technology Officer. Bruce is the bridge connecting state-of-the-art developments in statistical relational learning (SRL) to innovative commercial applications. Bruce will bring his unparalled knowledge and technical expertise to ATG assuming the position of VP & Chief Architect, OnDemand Personalization to help ensure ATG is the technological leader in e-commerce driving personalization across the Web. In 1994, Bruce co-founded Prevision, Inc., a computational decision theory company that was sold to Fair, Isaac & Company in 1997. In 2000, Bruce founded CleverSet to harness the once-in-a-generation opportunity presented by SRL for efficient, predictive, real-time modeling in ecommerce. Bruce has 30 years of experience in the computer software industry and has led software development teams for a number of companies, including Fannie Mae's mortgage loan portfolio and Kaiser-Permanente's Northern California Regional Laboratory. Bruce took a 20-year detour into academia to focus on research in graphical, probabilistic models, particularly algorithms for efficient inference in Bayesian networks. He is now emeritus faculty at Oregon State University. He remains connected to the research community and is currently serving as the Treasurer for the Association for Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence. Bruce is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of AI Research and the International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, and a member of the program committees for the annual conference on Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence (UAI) and the American Association for Artificial Intelligence annual conference (AAAI). An engineer at heart, Bruce is happiest when he is building things - all manner of things - from companies to electronics to strange contraptions that we're not quite sure what they do. He also likes long bike rides on hot summer days and he is an excellent cook most of the time. |
