Mr. Beers joined IBM in Burlington, Vermont as an engineer in the product characterization organization. From 1988 to1992, he managed IBM’s VLSI Electronic Design Automation (EDA) developing the advanced toolset that differentiates IBM’s ASIC products. In 1994, Mr. Beers was named Director of ASIC Products at IBM Microelectronics Division in Burlington, Vermont. Under Mr. Beers’ leadership, the ASICs organization in Burlington became one of the industry leaders in providing ASIC products and customer service and grew to more than $1B in revenue. In recognition of the ASIC success, Mr. Beers was named Vice President in 1998.
