Bruce W. Shewmaker is a Managing Director of MVC Capital, Inc., a publicly traded business development company listed on the NYSE. Prior to his tenure at MVC, he co-founded and advised CrossBow Ventures, a private investment fund and SBIC with committed capital of $160mm. Previously, he was the Managing Director of E*Offering, an investment banking firm that was later merged into WIT Sound View Group. Mr. Shewmaker also served as President and Director of the U.S. Russia Investment Fund, the largest American Enterprise Fund, which made both equity and debt investments throughout the regions of Russia. Mr. Shewmaker’s previous experience includes founding an investment management and advisory firm called New Century Management, which was later merged with Habros Bank; acting as Managing General Partner of Vector Venture Partners Group; roles as President of Merrill Lynch R&D Management, Inc.; acting as Chairman of Merrill Lynch Oklahoma Venture Partners and as Vice President of Merrill Lynch Venture Capital, Inc. Mr. Shewmaker has vast experience both managing and advising companies in both early and later stages of development. Mr. Shewmaker’s expertise rests in the creation and implementation of innovative investment vehicles. Mr. Shewmaker serves on the boards of the Venture Investors Association Of New York and Infrared Imaging Systems, Inc. Mr. Shewmaker received his B.S in Finance from the Ohio State University and has completed graduate work in Management Studies at the Graduate School of Business of New York University. |
