Bruce Kephart is Regional President & CEO for the Northeastern Region of FirstMerit Bank. After completing U.S. Army Adjutant General Corp Officers Basics Training at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, Indiana, Bruce began his banking career with Citizens Savings in Painesville, Ohio in 1974 as a management trainee. After a pro-gression through Citizens branch system, he left Citizens to join Lake County National Bank in 1977. (Lake County National was acquired by Bank One in 1982.) After stints of Branch Manager, he transferred to the Commercial Lending group in 1982. In 1986, he was named a Vice President and Team Leader for Corporate Banking and in 1988, he was named Manager of Corporate Banking for Bank One, Cleveland. In 1993, the Health Care Division was started and added to his responsibilities. Kephart joined FirstMerit as President and CEO of Peoples Bank, N.A. on July 25, 1995. He has held numerous Regional President positions within FirstMerit over the past nine years.
Bruce earned his bachelor degree with a major in economics from the Ohio State University and completed the Stonier Graduate School of Banking from the University of Delaware. He serves on the Board for Leadership Lake County, Vocational Guid-ance Service, and GYRO of the Western Reserve. |
