Bruce McDonald is a certified public accountant with impressive international and domestic banking and corporate experience in financial analysis, reporting, consolidations, systems, procedures, budgets, planning, technical accounting, accounting operations and cash management. He joins Plaza Bank after five years as CFO with CommerceWest Bank in Newport Beach.
Mr. McDonald, a resident of Huntington Beach, has held a number of managerial and executive-level financial posts in his long career that began with Price Waterhouse in 1978. He began his banking career with Security Pacific Bank in Los Angeles in 1981 and later he was financial controller for the U.S. and Canadian operations of commercial airline Quantas Jetabout.
In 1989 Mr. McDonald joined Union Bank in Los Angeles as manager for internal and external reporting. He also has served in key financial reporting positions with Standard Chartered Bank (formerly First Interstate Bank) in Los Angeles and until 2001 as vice president and controller at Mellon 1st Business Bank in Los Angeles.
Mr. McDonald has a bachelor’s degree in accounting form California State University, Northridge, and a master’s in business administration from the University of Southern California.
