I. Bruce Speiser joined the firm in 1997 as a litigation partner, after having been a partner with a large international law firm.
Mr. Speiser specializes in the representation of institutional lenders in a wide range of matters. In particular, he has been responsible for complex civil litigation, including lender liability claims; disputes among loan participants and interpretation of mortgage loan instruments; real estate secured transactions, including lien priority issues, title insurance matters, loan workouts, loan commitment disputes and foreclosures and anti-deficiency counseling; as well as the representation of creditors in numerous Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases throughout California and other Western states. In addition, Mr. Speiser regularly assists other partners in counseling clients on real estate secured transactions and bankruptcy issues.
Mr. Speiser has lectured extensively on the issues of real estate lending, real property remedies and mortgage foreclosures. Furthermore, he has appeared as a speaker on various continuing legal education programs sponsored by the California Continuing Education of the Bar as well as to numerous other groups. Mr. Speiser is the co-author of California Mortgage Foreclosures for Professional Education Systems Inc.
