Dr. Bruce Pound is a Senior Managing Scientist who specializes in electrochemical science and technology particularly as they apply to corrosion evaluation and monitoring. Dr. Pound has a Ph.D. in Electrochemistry from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. His work focuses on issues related to corrosion rates passivation pitting corrosion galvanic corrosion and hydrogen permeation. Dr. Pound has been called upon to measure corrosion of steel reinforcement in concrete; analyze hydrogen diffusion and trapping in alloys; evaluate and mitigate microbiologically influenced corrosion; perform electrochemical characterization of stress corrosion cracking; and assess corrosion in marine geothermal and automobile environments. His areas of expertise also include high-temperature aqueous electrochemistry and corrosion; thermodynamics of metal-water systems; and fuel cell battery and electrolysis technologies using aqueous and solid electrolytes. |
