Bruce E. Aust is Executive Vice President of the Corporate Client Group The Nasdaq Stock Market Inc. (NASDAQ) a position he assumed in 2003.
In this role Mr. Aust is responsible for global business development and relationship management with the 3 200 companies listed on NASDAQ. Mr. Aust oversees a national regionally based sales force as well as global representatives serving countries including China India Israel Russia Japan Korea and nations in South America.
During Mr. Aust's tenure NASDAQ has attracted some of the country's highest profile IPOs including JetBlue Google Baidu Spansion and most recently Warner Chilcott one of the largest U.S. IPOs in 2006.
Under Mr. Aust's leadership NASDAQ launched the exchange's innovative dual listing program which allows NYSE companies to simultaneously list on NASDAQ as well as sales initiatives which have resulted in numerous high-profile NYSE companies transferring their listing to NASDAQ including Charles Schwab Corporation Liberty Media Cadence Design Systems United Airlines and Sears.
Mr. Aust leads NASDAQ's Corporate Services program a key corporate initiative designed to redefine the value of a stock exchange listing. This program is focused on providing support services for public companies as part of NASDAQ's listing offering including visibility shareholder relations and compliance. As part of this program Aust has overseen four acquisitions including Carpenter Moore a top 10 directors & officers insurance broker; Shareholder.com providing investor relations consulting and web services; and PrimeZone Media Network an up-and-coming press release newswire and multi-media service.
Previously Mr. Aust served as Executive Director and Vice President of the Corporate Client Group a role in which he maintained oversight of all listed companies in the Western Region representing 60% of the market cap on NASDAQ. He has assisted more than 200 companies in going public and works closely with CEOs and executives of some of the most well-known companies listed on NASDAQ. Throughout his career with the firm he has also been instrumental in gaining exposure for NASDAQ-listed companies with international institutional investors in Europe and Asia.
Prior to joining NASDAQ in 1998 Mr. Aust spent 12 years at Fidelity Investments in a variety of sales trading and management positions in Dallas Boston Los Angeles and San Francisco.
