C. Bruce Lawrence, a partner, heads Boylan Brown's Creditor's Rights Practice Group. He has over 31 years of experience in the fields of debtor/creditor law, bank and commercial collections, business loan workouts, and commercial bankruptcy. He is a frequent lecturer for the New York State Bar Association in the fields of bankruptcy and debt collection. He has represented secured creditors, creditors committees, and bankruptcy trustees in such high profile cases as Midtown Plaza, Interco Systems, Bristol Harbor, Valentown Museum, Sykes Datatronics, Marjax, Conlon Industries and Paul Dean. He is a past chair of the Monroe county Bar Association's Bankruptcy Committee and serves on the New York State Bar's Bankruptcy Committee on is a member of the Executive Committee of the NYSBA's Business Law Section. His long experience in this field allows him to provide accurate advice and counsel in debt recovery situations. For many years he has been listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" for his bankruptcy expertise.
Long active in the organized Bar, he is a Past President of the Monroe County Bar Association, and Past Chair of the New York State Council of Bar Leaders. He chairs the NYSBA's President's Committee on Access to Justice, and has been appointed a member of that association's Special Committee on Public Trust and Confidence in the Judicial System. Previously having served in the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association, he now serves in the NYSBA's House of Delegates and has been elected Vice President for the 7th Judicial District.
Mr. Lawrence is a 1966 graduate of the University of Rochester and a 1969 graduate of the Dickinson School of Law of Pennsylvania State University.
