Mr. Fowler focuses his practice on estates and trusts and general tax issues, including state and local taxes. In the estate planning area, Mr. Fowler aids his clients in defining and implementing family wealth transfer goals, structuring estates in a manner that minimizes the estate tax impact and maximizing asset protection, and transferring family-owned and closely-held businesses in a tax-efficient manner. Mr. Fowler represents estates and beneficiaries in probate and litigation proceedings and trustees in the administration of trusts. Finally, Mr. Fowler represents clients in tax controversies, most specifically in the state and local tax area. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Fowler practiced for five years as a CPA with Deloitte & Touche, LLP, and as a state and local tax specialist for a Fortune 500 company. Immediately after law school, Mr. Fowler practice specialized in tax litigation and estate planning for the law firms of Jones, Day, a large international law firm, and Hall, Estill in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Fowler moved to Colorado in 2000 to join one of Denver's largest Estate and Trust practice. Mr. Fowler contributes time to various community programs and non-profits. He is the current Chair of the Board for PlatteForum, which is an arts education organization that won the Mayor's Award for Excellence in the Arts in 2007. He also serves on the Riverfront Park Community Foundation. Mr. Fowler was born in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and spends most of his free time in the mountains skiing, hiking, and fly-fishing. |
