How would you describe your career path to reach your current position? I held many internships throughout my academic career, which I believe assisted in the beginning of my career. So, not only did I have a Master's degree, but I also started my career with some work experience.
Why did you choose Teradyne? Teradyne offered a nurturing environment and a safe place to begin my career. I was successful academically, but apprehensive about jumping into a new environment with no support. Teradyne employees were extremely helpful and have allowed me to grow and learn in a supportive environment. I have the ability to try new things and work at my own pace, which I also enjoy.
What is most challenging about your job? Although I've been with Teradyne a year, there are still many things that I don't know. Every problem is usually new and I am constantly learning. It is difficult at times to retain all of the things that I learn, but it is also one of the things that I love about my job.
What do you find most rewarding about your job? The thing that I love most about my position is that I learn something new every day and I'm trusted to design using my own ideas. I'm given the freedom to work on my own, but I have a very good support system within my group whenever I need assistance. The most rewarding part of my job is turning in the finished product and seeing my work being used by others. It leaves me with a great sense of accomplishment.
How do you think the people at Teradyne differ from those you might find in other companies? People at Teradyne are really great. Some technical environments can be rather drab and boring, but I find Teradyne to be the opposite. Everyone interacts with everyone else and there’s a lot of personality...oh, and EVERYONE is smart.
Please describe how you view the corporate culture. What do you like most about it? The corporate culture is extremely innovative and fast paced. I think that you have to work hard to stay with the pace, but things are always changing and you are always learning. It's never boring.
