As Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development Bridget Atkinson is responsible for recruitment employee relations employee growth and development compensation and benefits and all other human relations matters. Ms. Atkinson implements company policies and monitors compliance with all state and federal laws.
Ms. Atkinson brings more than two decades of experience in the field of Human Resources to her position at GTSI. Prior to being appointed Vice President she led the department as its Sr. Director of Human Resources. Before GTSI Ms. Atkinson worked in the IT arena serving in a variety of positions.
She spent six years at Hughes Network Systems in positions of ascending responsibility. As Human Resources Manager she managed the daily operations of the Human Resources Department as well as serving on the Human Resources Advisory Committee.
Ms. Atkinson is an active member of the Society of Human Resource Professionals (SHRM) the Employment Management Association (EMA) and the Washington Technical Personnel Forum (WTPF). She is a member of the American Management Association Society of Women Engineers and Women in Information Technology.
She holds a bachelor's degree from Hope College in Holland MI. She completed two recent Executive Leadership Programs from Duke University (2004) and from Dartmouth (2003) and continues to update her skills in employment law recruitment and retention techniques and human resources policies and procedures. Ms. Atkinson is certified in Behavioral Interviewing Techniques. |
