Bridget joined Faegre & Benson in 1998. Bridget's practice primarily consists of representing developers of multifamily housing using a variety of financing tools from low-income housing tax credits to HUD-insured financing and governmental loans. She also has experience using historic tax credits, renewable energy and investment tax credits, and New Market Tax Credits for a variety of developments. Bridget's practice also includes land use and government approvals, tax increment financing, real estate acquisition and sale, commercial leasing and real estate financing. She has represented developers, buyers, sellers, lenders and tenants in a variety of real estate transactions.
Governmentally-Assisted and Affordable Housing Developments. Bridget represents a number of clients in obtaining tax increment financing and tax credit equity for mixed-use projects, affordable housing developments and nonprofit corporations.
Land Use, Environmental and Renewable Energy. In her land use and environmental practice, Bridget represents clients in connection with land use regulations, zoning, permitting and environmental review. She has obtained conditional use permits, variances and other zoning approvals on behalf of clients. Bridget represented the University of St. Thomas in successfully obtaining a number of controversial approvals, including the demolition permits for buildings in Minneapolis' Harmon Area Historic District, to create a large downtown academic campus. Bridget also represented the Minneapolis Downtown Council in connection with a major revision of the Minneapolis Zoning Code. Bridget also represents clients in the sales of contaminated land and highly regulated businesses. She worked on the environmental reviews and drafted the travel demand management plans for the Target Corporation headquarters and the Hines Fifty South Sixth office tower in Minneapolis. She also has experience in purchase/sale and developments. Bridget has extensive experience in the area of sales and purchase and industrial real estate for Target Corporation, 3M, and The Pillsbury Company.
Leasing. In the area of commercial leasing (office, restaurants and retail), Bridget regularly acts as counsel in transactions throughout the United States.
Lending. Bridget represents lenders and borrowers in the financing of new developments, redevelopments, corporate acquisitions and real estate transfers. She has also represented the Family Housing Fund and the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund in financing transactions for low and moderate income housing projects.
Personal. Bridget graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1994, cum laude. Bridget served on the editorial board of the Journal of Law and Inequality as a note and comment editor. She also had an article published in the Journal of Law and Inequality in 1993. Bridget graduated from Dartmouth College in 1989, where she majored in history. Prior to attending law school, Bridget worked for an environmental consulting firm.
