Brian H. Shuman comes to Mercy Housing with more than 20 years of experience in financial services and for the past seven years specifically within the affordable real estate industry. From 2000 to 2002, Shuman served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance for National Partnership Investments Corp., a real estate syndicator of affordable housing properties. He managed the accounting, treasury and financial reporting departments and worked closely with developers and investors. Through a merger in 2002, he joined Aimco, the nation’s largest owner and operator of apartment communities. There he served as Chief Financial Officer for Aimco’s affordable division, the nation’s largest owner and operator of subsidized housing. While also at Aimco, Shuman also held the positions of Head of Property Operations for Aimco’s affordable division and Senior Vice President of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis. Shuman received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting from the University of Maryland. |
