Practice Emphasis Gaming Law, Public Utilities, Practice Before State Regulatory Agencies Professional Experience Brian Harris is Of Counsel in Lionel Sawyer & Collins' Gaming and Regulatory Law Department. His practice focuses primarily on gaming law, public utility law, and practice before State regulatory agencies. After graduation from law school, Mr. Harris worked in Washington, D.C. as Staff Attorney for the U.S. General Accounting Office, and then Assistant Chief Counsel fo the Federal Labor Relations Board. He returned to Nevada in 1983, holding several positions with the Nevada Public Service Commission, including Director of Regulatory Operations, Staff Counsel and Assistant General Counsel. In 1989, Mr. Harris was appointed legal counsel to Governor Miller. In 1993, Governor Miller appointed him as one of the three members of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the principal regulator of the gaming industry throughout Nevada. Mr. Harris held that position until shortly before joining Lionel Sawyer & Collins.
