Brian grew up in Southern California in a holistically minded household and from an early age was always on the go, riding bikes, skateboards, racing BMX and motocross, swimming and playing water polo. In 1985, Brian discovered endurance cycling and was quickly frustrated by the lack of nutritional supplements on the market that addressed the unique needs of endurance athletes. One year later, Brian made the decision to launch a line of nutritional supplements designed to meet those needs.
In 1987, along with his father, Dr. Gerry S. Frank, Brian co-founded E-CAPS, a supplement line geared for endurance athletes that now consists of 18 products. Unfortunately Dr. Frank died of cancer in 1991 before he could have active involvement in E-CAPS. Brian continued doing research and developing new products and ultimately launched a boutique nutritional supplement company with endurance athlete customers as his niche. In 1995, Brian introduced Hammer Nutrition Endurance Fuels and the unique modular fueling system to his existing company.
Brian moved his business and family to Whitefish, Montana, in 1995, a place ideal for enjoying his athletic pursuits, raising a family and managing a growing business.
Brian’s commitment to customer service/education and the development of high-quality, all natural products, has allowed him to reach his goal of helping serious endurance athletes reach their highest level of performance and health safely and naturally.
Staying true to his active roots, Brian resumed racing motorcross in 1998 and won two Montana State Championship titles. These days he rides mostly road bikes, averaging about 5,000 miles per year. When he’s not working or cycling, Brian can be found with one or more of his children snowboarding, Nordic skiing, ice-skating, wakeboarding, or hiking. |
