Brian Fitzmaurice is executive vice president and chief credit officer of City National Bank and oversees credit policy administration and special assets. He also is a member of the bank's Executive Committee.
Mr. Fitzmaurice has more than 20 years of credit and risk management experience and he has worked in California for over half of that time.
He joined City National in February 2006 from Citibank in Southern California. There he was a senior risk manager responsible for Citibank’s middle-market credit risk management in California and throughout the nation. Prior to that he was chief credit officer of commercial banking for four years at California Federal Bank. Cal Fed was purchased by Citigroup in 2002.
In 1991 Mr. Fitzmaurice went to work for Michigan National Bank (a subsidiary of National Australia Bank). He held various business line and credit positions prior to serving as head of credit bureau (the equivalent of chief credit officer) from 1996 to 1998.
From 1986 to 1991 Mr. Fitzmaurice held various management level credit positions with Citicorp Merabank FSB and Westinghouse Credit Corporation.
Mr. Fitzmaurice began his career as a relationship manager for Bank of America in Concord Calif. where he worked from 1983 to 1985.
He graduated from Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
