Brian Dalton consults with institutions on areas related to student marketing, recruitment and retention, both undergraduate and graduate. As vice president for enrollment management and associate academic dean for program development at the College of St. Scholastica (MN), Mr. Dalton offers 15 years of higher education experience in leadership, strategic planning, marketing, admissions, orientation, financial aid, academic program and curriculum development, first-year programs, non-traditional programming, and higher education innovation. He has consulted with a number of colleges throughout the country.
For five years at St. Scholastica, Mr. Dalton has engineered the diversification and improvement of tuition revenue sources, as well as dramatically improved market share and penetration despite challenging demographics. He initiated a program geared to non-traditional learners that now enrolls 600+ students, and oversaw a 40 percent increase in full-time undergraduate students, a result of consecutive record first-year classes for the past four years. At nearly 3,000 students, St. Scholastica has grown by 35 percent during this time. Mr. Dalton currently leads a two-year project to boost the college’s retention rates to aspiration-college levels. In 2002, St. Scholastica received national recognition via the Marketing and Recruitment Excellence Award from Noel Levitz.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Dalton served as dean of enrollment at the University of the Incarnate Word (TX), and also worked in admissions at Gannon University (PA).
