Mr. Callahan joined Fairmount Automation in 2000 and is principally responsible for managing and expanding the company's engineering services unit. In addition, he is responsible for supporting the application of the company's products in the U.S. Navy and is often called upon to assist in the design and development of shipboard control systems. Mr. Callahan worked as an automation and control systems integrator for over 10 years for Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in Philadelphia, where he designed and implemented microprocessor-based systems to modernize propulsion and auxiliary control systems on most Navy gas turbine, steam (conventional and nuclear) and diesel surface ships. He also held a position in NSWC's Machinery Research and Development Directorate, where he researched the use of distributed control networking technology for the purpose of creating survivable automated damage control systems, and authored several reports describing the application of these systems on present and future Navy surface combatants. Mr. Callahan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in 1993. |
