Brian Bond is vice president-external affairs for Southwestern Electric Power Company. His strategic focus is on community relations, economic development and public policy matters, particularly as they affect AEP’s business in the increasingly competitive electricity industry. He participates in building and maintaining external relationships with regulators, legislators, community leaders, consumers and other stakeholders who have an impact on AEP activities in Arkansas, Louisiana and east Texas.
Bond served as state president-Arkansas/Louisiana for AEP from Aug. 31, 2003 until June 1, 2004. He served as environmental affairs manager-Louisiana and manager-waste management & mitigation services for American Electric Power Service Corporation from 2000 until he became state president. Previously he held various environmental management positions with Central and South West over an 18-year period.
Prior to his environmental service with AEP, Bond served for two years in the CSW Environmental Services group as corporate waste manager. From 1990 to 1998, Bond served as environmental affairs manager for Southwestern Electric Power Company. He started his career with Southwestern Electric Power Company in 1981 as an environmental chemist and worked with General Motors Corporation in the environmental engineering group from 1989-1990 prior to rejoining Southwestern Electric Power Company.
Bond is currently serving on the Louisiana State University-Shreveport Foundation, the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry Environmental Quality Steering Committee and is an active volunteer in the Shreveport-Bossier Community Renewal elementary school tutoring program.
Bond received a bachelor’s degree in natural and applied sciences from Louisiana State University-Shreveport in 1981. He resides in Shreveport, La., with his wife, Regina and their two young adults Kim and Andy. |
