Brian is responsible for all CUnet Technology including; web development, custom client solutions and systems/data integration. Brian manages a world class Technology team that is comprised of Developers, Application Architects, Graphic Designers, Database Administrators, Project Managers, Product Managers, Network Engineers, Technical Analysts, Technical Account Managers and Quality Assurance testers. Under Brian's leadership, this team ensures all CUnet's technology and hosted solutions exceed customer needs. Brian's team thrives on providing customers the tools, reports and abilities before they need them. Brian has been in either a technology business development or technology leadership position since 1999. Early on, Brian helped launch and develop a number of web start-ups that focused on extreme sports and entertainment, online gift ordering and medical/healthcare information. With his involvement in these start-up ventures in full swing, Brian also attained two Masters Degrees from the University of Miami, built their Graduate School's intranet, and also integrated the schools first foray into online applications. Brian's next career move took him to Nelnet where he quickly moved up the ladder from a Technology Project Manger position to the Managing Director of Business Intelligence. During his short but successful tenure at Nelnet, Brian was responsible for implementing multiple seven and eight figure technology projects and managing large and diverse technology teams that included network support, application development, business intelligence, help desk support, and database administration. At Nelnet, Brian was also involved in negotiating enterprise size vendor contracts and managing eight figure annual technology budgets. Brian's organizational abilities, vision for the role technology can play in driving business development, and "getting things done" attitude awarded him the visibility throughout the Nelnet organization that led him to his current position at CUnet. After being recommended by a number of senior Nelnet executives, Brian took the position of Managing Director of Technology in early 2007 and since that time has been and is focused on providing best in the business customer support and driving CUnet to be the technology and innovation leader. |
