Brian Ayers brings years of journalism experience to Leslie Kline Lukas & Associates, where he helps clients attain positive publicity. Mr. Ayers has served as a writer and copy editor for daily and weekly newspapers in Nebraska and spent two years as a writer and copy editor in a corporate setting. Mr. Ayers' accomplishments include:
- Serving as a staff writer and copy editor for the Omaha World-Herald, Nebraska's largest newspaper. He wrote more than 150 stories as a part-time employee. Mr. Ayers covered several sports, created story ideas, assisted with editing and writing in the sports department and trained new part-time employees.
- Excelling as the sports editor for the Gretna Breeze, Papillion Times/La Vista Sun and Springfield Monitor. Mr. Ayers managed the sports section for the three weekly newspapers in Sarpy County, which included all the writing, photography and page design. He wrote approximately 15 stories a week, developed media contacts throughout the coverage area and helped build the company's subscription-based market penetration in its coverage area.
- Providing distinguished editorial leadership as a business editor, copy editor and in quality assurance for infoUSA. Mr. Ayers served as a quality assurance associate and copy editor. His quality assurance duties included verifying facts and evaluating the content of business descriptions written by business editors based in India. As a copy editor, Mr. Ayers edited business descriptions in accordance with Associated Press style. His business editor duties included identifying and researching the defining characteristics of companies to write a business profile geared to generate sales leads.
Mr. Ayers received a bachelor's degree in journalism with a co-major in theater from Creighton University.
