Brian is an Associate in the Construction/Surety and Litigation sections of Coats Rose. Prior to joining the firm in 2002, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Richard H. Edelman and the Honorable Charles W. Seymore of the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston. At South Texas College of Law, Brian received numerous awards including the Phi Delta Phi Highest Grade Award in Payment Systems and Civil Procedure, Ferguson Camp Poll Award for Outstanding Legal Writing, Nobles & Wade Award and Professor Barber Awards for Distinguished Service. He was also inducted into the Order of the Lytae and Phi Delta Phi. Brian served as an Assistant Articles Editor for the South Texas Law Review, and was the Managing Student Editor for the first two issues of the State Bar of Texas, Construction Law Section’s Construction Law Journal. Brian currently serves on the Texas Residential Construction Commission’s Arbitration Task Force. He also lectures and has authored and co-authored several articles on a variety of current topics concerning the construction industry. Practice Emphasis Brian’s practice focuses on representing owners, sureties, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in all phases of the construction cycle from contract documentation preparation and review to investigation and resolution of contract and subcontract defaults with special emphasis in representing sureties, general contractors and owners through lien and bond claims. |
