Mr. Wakefield is an associate in the Dayton office of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP. He received his undergraduate degrees from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and Park University. Mr. Wakefield has a Master of Science degree in human resource management from Chapman University and law degree from Ohio Northern University. He concentrates his practice in the area of labor and employment law. Mr. Wakefield assists clients with issues arising out of the American with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act as well as other federal state anti-discrimination statutes and Ohio’s unemployment compensation law. His work in these areas includes, but is not limited to, drafting employee handbooks, counseling employers regarding employee leaves of absence, discipline and termination, conducting investigations, and defending employers in administrative proceedings. In addition, Mr. Wakefield represents employers in matters arising out of the National Labor Relations Act and Ohio’s Labor Law. He currently serves as a Board of Trustee member on the Greene County Ohio Family Violence Prevention Center (Vice President); The Miami Valley Human Resources Association, Daybreak, and Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership. |
