As Vice President of Real Estate/Retail Leasing, Mr. Lanham leads the retail analysis of new sites, merchandising and budgeting and retail tenant prospecting and negotiating team at SBER. He is currently involved in projects in Baltimore, MD; Wilmington, DE; Providence, RI; Durham, NC and Winston Salem, NC. Mr. Lanham joined SBER after a long career with both The Rouse Company and Prime Retail. While at The Rouse Company, he held positions as manager of retail operations for Harborplace and The Gallery, and vice president and general manager for The Shops at National Place and Press. He began his leasing career on the redevelopment of Harborplace in Baltimore adding over $30 million in new sales volume by upgrading the tenancies at the property. His next project for Rouse was to transform one of the first enclosed shopping centers in the United States, consisting of only two anchors and an IKEA out parcel, into a vibrant retail center that included a 12-screen General Cinema, Storehouse Furniture, TGI Friday s, Bertucci s Pizzeria, Atlanta Bread Company, Disney Store, Eat At Joe s Diner, Old Navy and 300,000 square feet of new or remodeled stores. After leaving The Rouse Company, Mr. Lanham worked on new concept development for Prime Retail, L.P. of Baltimore. There, he produced the first home furnishings village development for the United States outlet retail industry with key tenants such as Ralph Lauren, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Hickory White, Henrendon and other home furnishing retailers. Mr. Lanham has Bachelor s degrees in both math and economics from Hampden-Sydney College. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute and has given many lectures and presentations to both groups on urban retailing and mixed-use project development. He is also very active in his community and church and leads many men s bible studies and men s fellowship groups in Harford County, Maryland. |
