Brian Waters is counsel in the firm's Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Brian’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation in the federal and state courts.
Complex Commercial Litigation. Brian represents clients in a broad range of complex commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, dealer/distributor litigation, construction litigation, insurance litigation, intellectual property litigation, and partnership and shareholder disputes. Brian also represents employers and employees in litigation matters involving claims of fraud, embezzlement, misappropriation of trade secrets, and employee misconduct. Brian has handled numerous matters on appeal, including appeals to the New Jersey Appellate Division and the New Jersey Supreme Court.
Real Estate and Construction Litigation. Brian represents land owners and landlords in commercial real estate litigation, including landlord-tenant disputes, brokerage fee cases, and evictions. Brian also represents property owners in actions in lieu of prerogative writs against local governing bodies. In addition, Brian represents property owners and contractors in construction litigation involving claims for breach of contract, construction liens, and delay damages.
OSHA. Brian has experience representing developers and contractors cited for workplace safety violations by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
International Arbitration. Brian has represented clients in international arbitrations involving distribution contracts between American corporations and companies located in Israel and Turkey.
Education. Brian received his bachelor's degree from the University of Houston in 1992. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the Seton Hall University School of Law in 1998, where he was articles editor for the Seton Hall Law Review. Brian has published two articles for the Seton Hall Law Review, on issues of First Amendment law and criminal procedure.
Professional Associations. Brian is a member of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey, New Jersey State Bar Association, and Mercer County Bar Association. |
