Brian Shay oversees all financial and operational matters for AT&T's wireless business in the western United States which includes profit and loss responsibility for all field operations and employees.
Shay began his career as an account executive with Motorola. In 1984, when the wireless industry was in its infancy, he joined US WEST Cellular, where he held a number of sales and management positions and grew with the company as it went through a series of mergers and acquisitions from US WEST Cellular to AirTouch to Verizon Wireless.
In 2004, Shay joined the former AT&T Wireless as executive vice president of Sales and Distribution Operations where he was responsible for the consumer sales organization, sales operations, and distribution development across all channels nationwide.
In 2005, he was named president of the West Region for Cingular Wireless. With responsibilities similar to those he holds today, Shay led the region through the company's brand transition from the former AT&T Wireless and set the pace for continued growth over the past two years.
Shay earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in business from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
