As Executive Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer for Scotiabank, Brian Porter oversees the global management of credit, market and operational risk for the Bank.
Over 25 years, Brian has held a variety of management positions, including Deputy Chairman, Scotia Capital Inc. before his recent appointment to Scotiabank.
In addition, Brian is past Chairman of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada (IDA), a Director of Invest in Kids, a Director of the Atlantic Salmon Federation and a member of the Faculty of Management Board of Advisors, Dalhousie University.
Brian received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School.
Brian and his wife, Megan, have three children. |
