BACKGROUND: Brian J. Fender is a shareholder and director of GrayRobinson. He is a native to Tampa who practices in the areas of public finance, corporate, securities and real estate. Prior to returning to Tampa and joining GrayRobinson's Tampa office, Brian previously practiced law in Miami and Washington, D.C. Brian is licensed to practice law in Florida, Illinois and the District of Columbia. Brian has represented a variety of clients from small businesses to large corporations, as well as banking and financial institutions, cities, counties, universities, school boards, hospitals, governmental financing pools, aviation authorities, port authorities, and various special districts. As a public finance lawyer, Brian serves primarily as disclosure counsel or underwriter's counsel in connection with the issuance of tax-exempt and taxable bonds by various municipalities. With respect to real estate matters, he has represented borrowers and lenders in real estate acquisitions, development and financing transactions and represented both landlord and tenants in commercial office and industrial leasing transactions. Brian has also advised clients on state and federal securities laws, private placements, banking and general business law issues.
