Experience:
Brian Newhouse is a finance and transactions attorney who works primarily with financial institutions. Brian represents clients in the context of leveraged finance transactions; extensions of credit to gaming companies; asset-based financings; construction financings; contested and negotiated change-of-control transactions; healthcare financings; mezzanine financings; compliance with state laws regulating lenders and lessors (e.g., one-action and anti-deficiency legislation, usury, rights of secured party under Article 9 upon default by debtor, etc.); and negotiation and documentation of private and public consensual debt restructurings, reorganizations and workouts.
Brian joined the Chicago office of Mayer Brown in 1982, moved to the firm’s Los Angeles location three years later and is now currently with the New York office. Previously, he held a senior position with another prominent law firm in the New England area.
